iSkysoft Video Converter 9.0

Transcodes media but also edits and downloads clips

iSkysoft Video Converter is intended not only to transcode media but also to edit and download clips. Frankly speaking, I loved this program’s graphical user interface, which is also very easy to use, even more so if you have previous experience with similar software.

One of the most valuable features of a converter is the support of multiple formats, even high-definition ones. In this respect, iSkysoft Video Converter can please even the most demanding users because it supports importing and exporting practically every audio and video format. Besides, it is good that it can simultaneously process batches of files, which you can import individually or as complete folders.

Locally stored files are not the only source available, for the tool can also download clips from a long list of video-sharing sites. Not only that, if you want to import streaming contents that cannot be downloaded otherwise, the tool lets you record directly from the screen. It is a shame, however, that it cannot capture video from a connected camera.

Although the application is far from being a full-fledged editor, it does allow some basic editing operations. For instance, it can help you extract a segment from a video and merge various clips. Moreover, it also lets you crop, rotate and flip the image. Additionally, you can apply effects and add watermarks. Such features as its ability to simulate 3D video and search for subtitles definitely deserve being mentioned here as well.

For many users, deciding upon output parameters is probably the most difficult part of converting video. So, it is good news that the tool makes it easier by providing presets for every device and purpose. Unluckily, you cannot use individual conversion profiles for each of the clips on the conversion list.

In fewer words, iSkysoft Video Converter has the advantages of supporting many formats and producing lossless conversion. However, its trial version has several limitations, such as slow processing. Besides this standard edition, there is also the deluxe one, which has a built-in disc burner.
